With all those bugs and crashes windows is an imperfect job in the desktop and laptop. Now desktops and laptops are fast going out of fashion in the domestic market. What with Android supported smart phones getting smarter day by day, with all kinds of accessories specially targeted at Android devices, the Android users are having a field day of choices. Besides, the trend now for online supermarkets is to kill desktop/laptop (read windows) transactions by doing business ‘only through’ smartphone applications. And since the biggest and most established software for popular smartphones is Android (apart from Mac which is exclusive Apple) it looks like unless Microsoft is able to proliferate the market with phone friendly apps and accessories, they would find it extremely difficult to sustain the mobile business. Which would shrink their market to the large appliance market (read desktop/laptop). But with smartphones getting even smarter to replace even the presentation delivery skills of the laptop and with people becoming more and more reluctant to lug weights around, I think Microsoft will have a huge problem on its hands especially since it has alienated a huge fraternity of customers with their OEM based windows which when crashed leaves the customer on a far and weak limb, having to live with a dead windows pc or laptop, the manufacturer offering no succour whatsoever. So here comes the era of smartphones and Android to replace all. Better you pull up your socks, Microsoft, and get off your ego trip.
