More images of the cancelled Lumia 1030 prototype?

Leaked photos show an unreleased Microsoft Lumia model
The French site nowhereelse.fr has just published two pictures of what appears to be a prototype of a successor to the Lumia 1020 cameraphone. The front panel has handwritten ‘Lumia 1030’. It could be an alternative version of the cancelled Nokia McLaren, or another project under development, which could be released soon (if not already cancelled).
It is worth noting that the front panel has the Microsoft and Verizon logos, which means the unreleased model is newer than McLaren, as it doesn’t have the old Nokia branding at the front. The opposite corner has the Verizon sign, so this previously unseen model may be designed for the US operator. The front panel misses the Windows capacitive buttons, which is not typical for an ultra high-end model.
Microsoft is rumored to be working on a successor to the Lumia 1020, but this cameraphone is not expected to reach the market before the end of 2015. These photos may really show us what could have become Lumia 1030/McLaren, but there are indications that Microsoft has cancelled it in favor of Lumia 1040 with Windows 10 on board in early 2016.
