Developer Preview 8.1 picks up a second update

Microsoft pushed out a second update to Windows Phone 8.1 Developer Preview. Released in April, the Preview can be installed by any developer or regular user with a free App Studio account (learn how). Joining the Developer Preview program gives you an early access to software and updates, including the newest OS built – version 8.1 – currently available only for new windows phone devices – Lumia 630, 635 and Nokia Lumia 930.
The first update to the 8.1 Preview was released in May 14 when Redmond added improvements and bug fixes based on the users’ feedback.
The update rolled out yesterday brought as expected only minor improvements and bug fixes to the platform and there was no official changelog. This is probably the latest update to the mobile platform before the official launch set for late June 2014. The new update is 20MB and it takes up between 20 and 30 minutes depending on the device, free space and number of installed apps. One of the changes that you will probably notice is a new boot screen with the Windows Phone flag.
Windows Phone 8.1 update will be rolling out by the end of the month for all old and new Windows Phone 2014 handsets including the lower-end models such as Nokia Lumia 520.
