Good news for all HTC 8X owners around the globe. A source within the company has confirmed through its Reddit account that HTC 8X devices will get the upcoming firmware update.

HTC is currently working with Microsoft on the Windows Phone 8.1 update for 8X and both companies are discussing new devices built around the mobile platform. Unfortunately, there is no word whether the low-end HTC 8S will receive the update or not.

Windows Phone 8.1 is making a buzz now as its SDK has started to leak on the Internet. The update which is expected to be introduced in April will bring a lot of improvements and new features. We know that several companies including Sony, HTC, Micromax and Huawei have expressed commitment to the platform, so we may see a lot of new devices in 2014.
