All Lumia Windows Phone 8 smartphones will get an update with Bluetooth 4.0 support

It is argued, according to The Verge, that sources familiar with Nokia`s plans have revealed that the company is planning to release an update for all Lumia Windows Phone 8 smartphones with support for Bluetooth 4.0. It seems that the Bluetooth support will come with Nokia’s Amber update. This means that the older handsets such as Nokia Lumia 820 and 920 will also be supported. Nokia is planning to update Lumia 520, 620, and 720 handsets as well.
These sources claim that the update will include low energy support for fitness devices like Fitbit, as well as that Nokia will release soon a variety of new accessories. Obviously, most of Nokia Windows Phone devices have chipsets which support Bluetooth 4.0, but this capability is still yet to enable. The Verge also reveals that Nokia’s new accessories will combine the Bluetooth low energy support with the popular location services Here Maps and Here Drive.
As Microsoft is likely not planning to provide Bluetooth 4.0 support before GDR3 release, it remains HTC, Samsung, and Huawei` users to wait and hope that these companies will release their own Bluetooth support. It is reported that the Nokia’s Amber update will be arriving in the next weeks.
